The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) officials arrested 4 people and recovered 7 kg of cocaine drugs from them in a series of cases in Mumbai, officials said. The recovered drugs are worth Rs 70 crore in the international market, they said.

According to an official release, in four different cases a total of approx. 7kg cocaine valued at approx. Rs 70 crore in the illicit market has been seized by the DRI officials and 4 persons including a woman have been arrested.

In the said cases out of whom 2 males are Indian nationals and the rest 2 are foreign nationals, read the official statement from DRI.

In one of the cases, two individuals were trying to bring drugs into the country by concealing the same in the false cavities of their trolley bags. In the other 2 cases the carriers had swallowed the drug capsules and, had to be admitted to the JJ Hospital to extract the drug-laden capsules, the official statement said.

In another case, the recovery of a narcotic substance was made from the residence of an Indian person at Virar after the drug was smuggled from Nairobi through Delhi airport.
