Akvarious Productions’ play The F Word that’s scheduled to show in Bengaluru and Mumbai soon, had an interesting promotion strategy. Akarsh Khurana (inset), writer and director of the play, asked AI to create something that is a visual presentation of the play.

“A lot of my friends have tried AI, and so I got curious about what the results could be. I added a few prompts. I was amused and intrigued with the results as there were a few similarities with the actual scenes,” he told this diarist.

A highway of memories

If there’s one thing that keeps everyone going in life, it’s the amazing friendships and the thrill that adventure offers. Fusing these two and also defying age, is 70-year-old Parvez Patel of Ideal Corner, who went on a bike trip with his two 61-year-old friends Khodaram Zandbaf and Khushroo Homji. “We started from Mumbai and covered a 6,000 km journey to Uming La [ahead of Leh] and back.

This pass is the highest motorable road in the world at 19,024 ft,” Patel told this diarist, adding that there was no advance planning and research for this 15-day trip. “We wanted to travel and so we decided to leave. We took it one day at a time and checked into the hotel as and when we felt like it. Every night, we would sit with a glass of whiskey and discuss the next day’s plan,” laughed the daredevil. The trio surely is giving us vacay goals.

Love and darkness

It’s evident that Shruti Haasan’s latest single Monster Machine is a celebration of self-love and being loved. Drawing from her relationship with artist Santanu Hazarika, she explained, “I felt seen and accepted, not my goodness alone but my darkness. [I realised] this comes from self-love, acceptance and owning one’s monsters.”

The song is a response to a piece from Hazarika’s series Blck. He added, “I reimagined the work based on the lyrics. One element of the artwork is the monster figure swallowing a small face that exudes a weird sense of confidence.”

Sensitise and empathise

The Humsafar Trust and NETREACH are coming together to organise Likho Media Summit West Region, which is a sensitisation workshop for media professionals on LGBTQiA+ community, on November 24. The event invites media personnel working in Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. “Senior media personnel will discuss HIV-sensitive language, dos and don’ts while reporting about the community, the role of media personnel while writing about the community and what queer-affirmative language is,” shared Sudhanshu Latad of the Humsafar Trust. Lounge in Juhu

The cool quotient of Juhu just shot up a few levels with the opening of a premium neighbourhood lounge called Larrikin that will be launched by the China Gate Group on November 8. “Guests can expect to savour premium cocktails accompanied by up-tempo jazz music and a nostalgic ambiance, all while having the option to enjoy cigars,” shared Ankit Tamang, co-founder of the group. Explaining the choice of Juhu as the location, he added, “Our choice is based on its unique blend of old charm, diversity, and accessibility, making it the perfect setting for our distinctive bar and cigar lounge.”
