Patients at Mulund Jumbo COVID Centre are having a really tough time. While fighting with the virus, patients are also battling extreme heat in the day time and cold at night time. Irritated with the situation, many of the patients called their relatives to come with table fans and blankets. However, centre authorities claimed that this is due to the height of the roof and there is nothing wrong with the AC.

The Mulund Jumbo COVID Centre is located at the grounds of Richardson and Crudas at LBS Road, and currently houses around 1,200 patients. Many relatives rushed to the centre with table fans and waited outside the gate for three to four hours to hand them over.

Hetal Atha, whose 80-year-old father is admitted in the centre, told mid-day, “My father is saying that due to the extreme heat, he is finding it difficult to breathe. However, at night, the temperature of the AC is so low that he is now suffering from a cold.”

Dr Pradeep Angre, dean of Mulund Jumbo facility, said, “It’s already a hot April, and the height of the roof is causing issues with the cooling. We are working on this issue.”
