Mumbai's Central Railway will be undertaking a Mega Block on its suburban sections on February 4 to carry out engineering and maintenance activities. The block is planned to run from 10:55 am until 3:55 pm.

During this time, the Up and Down slow lines connecting Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and Vidyavihar stations would be disrupted. Down slow services from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus between 10:48 a. and 3:49 pm would be diverted to the Down fast line, with stops at Byculla, Parel, Dadar, Matunga, Sion and Kurla stations. These services will thereafter be routed to the Down Slow Line at Vidyavihar station, stated a media statement by Central Railway.
Similarly, the statement said, Up slow services leaving Ghatkopar from 10:41 am to 3:52 pm will be diverted to the UP fast line between Vidyavihar and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, making stops at Kurla, Sion, Matunga, Dadar, Parel, and Byculla stations.
On the Down Slow Line, the last local service before the block will be the Thane local departing from CSMT at 10:18 am, while the first local after the block is the Dombivali local departing from CSMT at 4:01 pm.
On the Up Slow Line, the last local service for CSMT before the block will be the Badlapur local departing from Kalyan at 9:13 am, and the first local after the block is the Thane local departing from Thane at 3:36 pm.
Additionally, the Thane-Vashi/Nerul Up and Down Transharbour Lines will be blocked from 11:10 a.m. to 4:10 p.m. Downline services from Thane to Vashi/Nerul/Panvel will be disrupted from 10:35 a.m. to 4:07 p.m., as will upline services from Nerul/Panvel to Thane.
The railway officials requested the passengers to check the schedule before heading out.
Meanwhile, the Western Railway (WR) has declared that, on Sunday, February 4, 2024, it would run a Jumbo Block to facilitate necessary maintenance on overhead equipment, signalling, and tracks.
The block would be in place for five hours, from 10 am to 3 pm, on the up fast line between Borivali and Andheri stations and the down fast line between Goregaon and Borivali stations, according to a statement from Western Railway's chief public relations officer, Sumit Thakur.
