Actor Brahma Mishra, who worked in movies like Manjhi, Mirzapur and Kesari, was found dead at his home on Thursday. Versova police found his semi-decomposed body from his flat at N S Nagar in Yari Road in the morning, after locals alerted them about a foul smell.

A police team rushed to the spot and found his body in the toilet. After the panchnama, the body was sent to Cooper hospital for autopsy, said an officer.
Sources said Mishra likely died two to three days ago.

“No injury or injury marks were found on his body, hence it is speculated that he died of a heart attack. But we are not going to take any decision from our side, we are waiting for the post-mortem report,” the officer said. Another officer said, “We have informed Mishra’s family members. His brother has left for Mumbai.”

Mishra is survived by his father, a retired bank employee, his mother, a homemaker, and his elder brother, a lawyer. It has been learned from close sources that his health was somewhat bad and he was complaining of acidity. “We have registered an accidental death report and the body has been sent for autopsy at Cooper Hospital,” said senior inspector Siraj Inamdaar of Versova police station.

Mishra, 36, was from Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh. He got admission at the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune, in 2006. His acting career started in 2009 when he got a small role in the film Nainsukh. He has since worked in several films like Chor Chor Super Chor, Veer, Dangal, Badri Ki Dulhaniya, Super 30, and Kesari. He got fame after Manjhi in 2015, and his most memorable role is ‘Lalit’ from Mirzapur.
