In less than 24 hours after two calls were made to Reliance Foundation Hospital threatening to harm Mukesh Ambani and his family members, the DB Marg police on Thursday arrested a 30-year-old man from Bihar, for his alleged involvement in the crime.

The caller had also claimed that he would blow up the hospital as well as Antilia, Ambani’s south Mumbai home. The police have identified the suspect as Rakesh Kumar Mishra. Sources said he is jobless.

“Acting swiftly in the incident of threat calls to Ambani family, a team of Mumbai police has detained a person from a block in Darbhanga, Bihar, at midnight with help of Bihar police,” said Neelotpal, DCP (Zone 2).

The police have seized his phone and are yet to scan the device to understand why he made the threat calls to the business tycoon’s family. Also, they have not ruled out the terror angle.
