The usually busy Dhobi Ghat as locals refer to this water reservoir behind the Sanjay Gandhi National Park bore an eerily empty look yesterday after mid-day’s front page story revealed that linen from hospitals and hotels was being washed here using water contaminated by sewage lines.

As of Tuesday, at least three hospitals and five restaurants would send uniforms and sheets here, but yesterday, there was barely any clothes to be seen at the spot.
