Days after restoring Mainline EMU special train services till Dahanu, the Central Railway authorities announced that they’ll resume the same till Roha and Pen as well, from today. The Diva-Roha-Diva/Pen services will run till further notice. These unreserved MEMU special services will halt at all stations where the regular ones have stoppages.

The pandemic has created a very difficult situation for the commuters who stay in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) and beyond. The MEMU trains are crucial for east-west and long-distance connectivity. In early October, MEMU trains had been restored till Dahanu, the other end beyond MMR on the western side. All norms of the state and central governments regarding Covid-19, including the universal pass system will be followed.

MSRTC staff go on strike

Services of the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) were badly hit across the state since Thursday morning due to an agitation by its employees over their various demands, officials said. Bus operations at several depots of the transporter, including at Mumbai Central, where the MSRTC’s headquarters is located, were stopped in support of the agitation, they added. However, the protest was called off in the evening.
