A 22-year-old medical student and Boisar resident has been missing for 14 days, leaving the police and her family confused.

According to the woman’s younger brother, Sanskar Sane, his sister Swadichchha Sane, 22, had left her house on November 29 morning to appear for her third MBBS prelims at Grant Government Medical College. Sanskar told the Boisar police that she boarded the 9.58 am local from Virar station and got off at Andheri station to board a fast train. She had called her brother and said that she would call again at 5.30 pm, until when her phone would be switched off. However, when Swadichchha did not return home till late in the night, her family got worried and started looking for her. They then filed a missing person report at the Boisar police station.

Investigation revealed that Swadichchha got off a fast train at Bandra station and took a taxi to Bandstand. The cops checked the CCTV footage of all the roads leading to the Bandstand. While there is evidence that she went to Bandstand, nothing has been found related to her return.

The Boisar police said that as per her call data record, she did not make any other calls apart from those to her family members.

Speaking to mid-day, Sanskar said, “My sister is a meritorious student. She secured the first rank in Thane district by scoring 98 per cent marks in SSC, while in the HSC she stood second in the district with 92 per cent marks. She is not depressed or under any kind of pressure. She wants to become a doctor and has been working towards fulfilling that dream. We have come to know that she was seen sitting at the Bandstand from noon till 3 am the next day. We suspect that she has been kidnapped.”

“On Sanskar’s complaint, we have registered a case of kidnapping against an unknown person and transferred the case to the Boisar Police for further investigation,” said an officer from Bandra police station.
