Till Friday, the state’s medical oxygen requirement was 980 MT. He added that since many places do not have liquid oxygen tanks, the state would install compact plants that can extract oxygen from the air.
“These outdoor units can be installed on hospital premises. The capital costs may be higher but there will be no recurring costs. They can be installed in 15 days,” Tope said.
The state has already barred industrial use of oxygen and asked manufacturers to divert their entire production to medical facilities.
