Maharashtra SSC Result 2022: Mumbai ranks sixth among nine divisions

Konkan divisional board tops in the state in overall pass percentage yet again; a total of 10,764 students in Mumbai score above 90 per cent

The much-awaited results of the SSC exams conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) were declared on Friday. Interestingly, the overall pass percentage of the state and Mumbai division stands identical at 96.94 per cent this year. Girls have again scored over boys with a pass percentage of 97.96 over 96.03 in Mumbai.


While the total pass percentage of the Mumbai division fell by 3.02 per cent this year compared to 2021, the state’s pass percentage fell by 3.01 per cent from last year. Mumbai secured the fourth last position in the list by recording a pass percentage of 96.94. While the Konkan region with 99.27 per cent topped the nine divisions and the Nashik division recorded the lowest 95.50 per cent result.


The divisional board of Pune recorded 96.96 per cent, Nagpur 97 per cent, Aurangabad 96.33 per cent, Kolhapur 98.50 per cent, Amaravati 96.81 per cent,  Latur 97.27 per cent. The pass percentage of the state has improved by 1.64 as compared to 2020 when exams were conducted offline. “The pass percentage of the state was 99.95 last year in 2021 when exam evaluation was based on internal marks due to the pandemic. The performance has been good compared to 2020,” said Sharad Gosavi, chairman of MSBSHSE.

This year the SSC examination in the state was conducted from March 15 to April 4, 2022.  This was the first offline board exam since the pandemic hit the city in March 2020. Last year the board could not conduct the SSC examinations due to Covid-19 cases and students were evaluated based on internal assessment. The examination this year was conducted in two shifts - from 10.30 am to 12.45 pm and from 3 pm to 5.15 pm. “The supplementary SSC exam will start from July 27 and go on till August 12 while the HSC supplementary exam will start from July 21 and go on till August 12,” Gosavi said.

Konkan division tops again

Konkan divisional board has topped the state in overall pass percentage yet again this year. The Konkan division which includes Sindhudurg and Ratnagiri has registered a pass percentage of 99.27 this year as compared to last year’s 100 per cent.

Differently abled

This year, a total of 8,169 differently-abled students registered for the board exam, of whom 8,029 appeared for the exam. Of these, 7,579 passed recording a pass percentage of 94.40.

Cent per cent

A total of 122 students, including one in Mumbai division, scored 100 per cent in Maharashtra. The results have been announced based on the best of five subjects.

A total of 10,764 students in Mumbai scored above 90 per cent, while 21,162 students scored marks between 85 per cent and 90 per cent.
