Maharashtra Health Minister Tanaji Sawant on Monday said that recruitment drive for about 11,000 posts in the C and D categories in various government hospitals and health institutions will start soon, reported news agency ANI.


State Health Minister Tanaji Sawant on Monday said 10,949 posts pertaining to nurses, technical and non technical staff in the C and D categories in various government hospitals and health institutions will be filled soon, reported ANI.


Tanaji Sawant further said that the previous recruitment drive for these posts under Health Minister Rajesh Tope were caught up in alleged irregularities and had to be put on hold.


"There are 60 different types of posts in the C and D categories including nurses, technical staff and non-technical staff. With this, the state will be able to fill almost all the posts in C and D categories in all the government hospitals," Tanaji Sawant was quoted as saying by ANI.

State Health Minister Tanaji Sawant informed that this entire recruitment process will be implemented through Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).

"The entire recruitment process will be implemented through Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). The advertisement for the same will be released soon and the exams will be conducted online," Tanaji Sawant was quoted as saying by ANI.

The details of the recruitment drive will announced soon, he added.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday said the state secured the top rank in attracting Foreign Direct Investment worth Rs 36,634 crore which is more than the sum of the investment received by Delhi, Karnataka and Telangana in the first quarter of FY 2023-24.

"Maharashtra which was ranked first in attracting FDI of Rs 1,18,422 crore in the FY 2022-23, also ranks first in the 1st quarter of FY 2023-24. As per the figures released by DPIIT, an FDI investment of Rs 36,634 crore has come in Maharashtra," Devendra Fadnavis said on X, formerly Twitter.

Maharashtra's FDI is more than the cumulative sum of FDI in Delhi, Karnataka and Telangana which rank second, third, and fourth, respectively, he said.

"Under the leadership of CM Eknath Shinde, our state is moving ahead at a fast pace and Maharashtra has become the favourite destination for investors," Devendra Fadnavis added.

Fadnavis said he and Chief Minister Eknath Shinde had delivered on the promise made when their government took over in June last year of making Maharashtra the number one state of the country.
