The Maharashtra government on Saturday announced new guidelines for different establishments in view of the rise in Covid-19 cases in the state due to the Omicron variant. As per the new rules, which come into effect from January 10, no movement in groups of 5 or more people will be allowed from 5 am to 11 pm. Night curfew will be imposed from January 10 and no movement will be allowed from 11 pm to 5 am except for essential purposes.

Rules for establishments are listed below:
Private offices
- Advised to not have more than 50 per cent of regular attendance
- Only fully vaccinated employees to attend office physically
- Management to consider flexible working hours and keeping offices open for 24 hours and working in shifts
Schools, colleges
- To remain shut till February 15
Shopping centres, markets
- To have 50 per cent capacity
- To be closed from 10 pm to 8 am
Restaurants, eateries
- To have 50 per cent capacity
- To be closed from 10 pm to 8 am

Cinema theatres
- To have 50 per cent capacity
- To be closed from 10 pm to 8 am
Public transport
- Only for fully vaccinated people
- To have regular timings
For domestic travel
- Travellers need to have double vaccination or mandatory negative RT-PCR test report valid upto 72 hours upto time of arrival into the state
Entertainment parks, zoos, museums, forts, local tourist spots
- To remain closed
