The decision was taken to bring back junior students back to classes after schools across the state did not report any infection on reopening for higher classes — Std IX-XII on November 23. A decision for students of lower classes will be taken soon.
Encouraged by no infection since the repoening for higher classes, “more children from Std V-VIII would want to attend the classes. Schools are seen strictly following all precautions,” said Varsha Gaikwad, school education minister. She visited schools in Pune district to interact with children on the day of reopening.
