The Indian Air Force (IAF) is set to organise an aerial display in Mumbai from January 12 to 14 as part of an outreach initiative, aiming to enhance awareness and strengthen the connection between the IAF and the local community, according to a defence official.

This showcase of displays and demonstrations by IAF personnel and aircraft is designed to highlight the force's skills, capabilities, and professionalism, providing a glimpse into its expertise.

Scheduled in coordination with the Government of Maharashtra, the IAF's aerial display programme will take place over Mumbai's Marine Drive from 12 noon to 1 pm, as outlined in a defence release issued on Tuesday.

"The IAF will organise an aerial display in Mumbai as part of the Indian Air Force outreach programme in coordination with the Government of Maharashtra from January 12 to 14 between 12 noon and 1 pm over the Marine Drive," a defence release said on Tuesday.

The event is set to include aerobatic displays performed by the Suryakiran Aerobatic Display Team (SKAT) and the 'Sarang' Helicopter display team, offering spectators an exciting visual experience.

Moreover, the spectacle will feature various aerial activities, including a flypast and low-level aerobatic display conducted by the Su-30 MKI, captivating freefall and parachute displays by the 'Akashganga' team and C-130 aircraft, as highlighted in the release.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) conducted a night landing at the high-altitude Kargil advanced landing field close to the Line of Control (LoC) with Pakistan using a C-130J Super Hercules transport aircraft for the first time, stated media reports. The reports added that the IAF's operational capabilities in the strategically important area were shown by the tactical lift aircraft's night arrival at the Kargil airfield, carrying the elite Garud commandos.

“In a first, an IAF C-130 J aircraft recently carried out a night landing at the Kargil airstrip. Employing terrain masking en route, the exercise also dovetailed a training mission of the Garuds,” the IAF said on ‘X’.
