ICC World Cup 2023: Mumbai Police issues traffic advisory, check details

Mumbai Police on Friday issued a traffic advisory for spectators and motorists ahead of the ICC World Cup cricket matches in the city.

 

According to the traffic notification, Mumbai Police said, cricket matches are scheduled to be played at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Since a large number of spectators are expected to come in their vehicles, this may lead to traffic congestion in the area.

 

The police also shared a list of the upcoming World Cup matches scheduled to be played in Mumbai.

 

England vs South Africa to be played on October 21, South Africa vs Bangladesh to be played on October 24, India vs Sri Lanka to be played on November 2, Australia vs Afghanistan will be played on November 7 and the Semi Final match will be played in Mumbai on November 15.

 

The police said that since there is no parking facilities at Wankhede Stadium, Spectators shall use a Public Traffic arrangement (Specially Trains/ Local Trains).

 

The police also issued parking restrictions around Wankhede Stadium in south Mumbai.

 

Parking Restrictions for the match days-

 

1) "C" Road North side from its junction on N.S.Road upto its junction with "E" Road.

 

2) "D" Road from its junction on N.S.Road upto its junction with "E" Road.

 

3) "E" Road from the junction of "D" Road upto "C" road junction.

 

4) "E" Cross Road from the junction upto "Anuvrat" junction.

 

5) "F" Road from the junction of N.S.Road to the junction of "H" road.

 

6) "H" road from the junction of "F" Road to the junction of "G" Road.

 

7) N.S.Road (South and North bound) from Mafatlal Bath Signal to Air India Junction.

 

8) Anuvrat Chowk to B.D somani Junction.

 

The restrictions will be in place from morning 11am to mid-night, the police said.

 

Following changes have been made in the routine traffic pattern, the police said.

 

'D' Road shall be one way (from West to East) for vehicular traffic from its junction at N.S.

Road (Marine Drive) & towards the junction of "E" & "C" Road.

 

'C' Road shall be One Way (from East to West) for vehicular traffic from its junction of

"E" Road towards the junction of N.S. Road (Marine Drive).

 

"E" Road shall be One Way (South Bound) for all types of vehicular traffic from the

junction of 'D' Road towards its junction of 'C' Road.

 

Spectators using Gate Number 01,03 and 07 shall use Chuchgate station to ply.

 

Spectators using Gate Number 04 and 05A shall use Marine lines, F Road.

 

The Following official parking lots are available near Churchgate station.

 

1) CR 02 Mall- 500 Vehicles

 

2) Income Tax Office- 200 Vehicles 

 

3) Akashvani- 60 Vehicles

 

4) Jivan Bima Marg-15 Vehicles 

 

5) Income Tax Office- 40 vehicles 

 

6) Nathibai Takkarsi Marg- 35 vehicles 

 

7) D Mulla Road- 35 vehicles

 

8) Nashikrao Tirpude marg- 40

vehicles 

 

9) Marine line Cross road-20 vehicles.

 

 

The police said, "Vehicles parked at places other than above will be issued E-challan and towed away."
