At least 1.90 lakh people are eligible for the booster shots that will be administered on January 10 onwards. Out of 1.90 lakh, 89,000 are healthcare workers, while 83,000 are frontline staff. By January end, another 2.33 lakh will be able to take the booster shot.

The doses will be available at both civic and private centres through online booking as well as walk-in. The online booking started on Saturday evening. The Public Health Department of the BMC has stated that senior citizens are not required to submit any medical certificate to prove comorbidity.

“There are more than 350 civic centres plus private centres equipped to administer the booster dose as well as first and second dose,” said Suresh Kakani, additional commissioner of the BMC.
