All essential and non-essential shops in Thane district have been allowed to function till 10 pm from Monday to Saturday.

On Sunday, essential shops can function till 10 pm, however, non-essential shops will remain shut. Shopping malls have not been allowed to open as per new rules.
The decision came after a meeting of District Disaster Management Authority, Thane on Tuesday.
New set of rules were released by the Government of Maharashtra recently giving some relaxation to shops and other establishments to the districts having less number of patients. Mumbai Municipal Corporation released its regulations on Monday, while Thane district was yet to announce its regulations.
The new rules will be applicable to Thane, Navi Mumbai, Kalyan-Dombivli, Bhiwandi-Nizampur, Mira-Bhayander and Ulhasnagar corporations. They will be applied with immediate effect.
The meeting was held under the leadership of Rajesh Narvekar, collector of Thane district.
New rules
- Essential shops (including medicine stores) will function all days till 10 pm
- Non-essential shops will function on Monday to Saturday till 10 pm while, it will remain close on Sunday
- Shopping malls will remain closed
- Restaurants/hotels will function with 50% capacity from Monday to Saturday till 4 pm. They will be shut on Sunday. Parcel and take-away will be allowed all day after 4 pm too
- Gym, Yoga classes, salon, beauty parlours and spa will function with 50 per cent capacity from Monday to Saturday till 10pm. They will remain closed on Sunday
- Swimming pools, indoor and outdoor sports, except sports which have possibility of close touch, will be allowed
- Gardens, recreational grounds will can be open from 5 am to 9 am
- All government and private offices permitted to function with 100 per cent capacity.
- All cinema halls, play theatres and multiplexes will be closed till next orders.
- Places of worship will remain shut
- Film shooting will be allowed as per previous orders.
