The total number of COVID-related deaths recorded in the state was 30 taking the total to 51,310 deaths in all. The city had 448 fresh new cases on Sunday while the Thane Municipal Corporation, Navi Mumbai and Kalyan Dombivali Corporation recorded 69, 75 and 77 cases respectively in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
The state’s recovery rate now stands at 95.67 per cent with 1,622 patients discharged across the state on Sunday. Mumbai’s recovery rate stands at 94 per cent while the doubling rate is at 572 days. The city’s daily growth rate in the past one week is just 0.12 per cent as the total count now stands at 3.11 lakh cases. The city has 5,441 ongoing cases.
The mortality rate of the state was 2.51 per cent. The number of deaths due to other causes in the state was 1,265. These deaths are the cases where patients were positive and tested negative but later died due to other complications. The state saw 1.49 crore laboratory samples collected, out of which 20.44 lakh tested positive with 13.65 per cent positivity ratio.
Raigad led in the state with 9 deaths. However, 15 cases were reported in MMR with Mumbai recording 4 cases and two other cases were recorded in Mira Bhayander corporation. The civic officials said out of the 4 deaths, all patients were suffering from other ailments and 2 were senior citizens.
