After witnessing a COVID test positivity rate (TPR) under 1 per cent on Sunday, the city saw a rise in the TPR on Monday. However, the new cases saw a significant dip with a decrease in the number of tests. As per the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) report, 276 new cases were reported on Monday while the TPR was 1.09 per cent.

The doubling rate dipped to 1,314 days on Monday. The city’s recovery rate remained constant at 97 per cent as 351 people were discharged after full recovery on Monday.
The state saw a significant drop in the new cases and even the fresh deaths dipped. As per the state health department report, 889 cases and 12 deaths were reported across the state.
The state’s case fatality rate remained constant at 2.12 per cent as 1,586 people were discharged after full recovery on Monday. Currently the state has 23,184 active cases.
The Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) also saw a significant dip in new cases. As per the state report, 464 cases were reported in the MMR, including the ones in Mumbai.
Apart from Mumbai, Thane reported the maximum number of daily cases in the MMR at 110. This was followed by Thane Municipal Corporation with 23 cases. While Panvel saw 26 cases, Raigad reported 15 cases and Vasai-Virar 16 cases. The MMR, excluding Mumbai, registered one death, which was in Navi Mumbai.
