Maharashtra continues to record 3,000-plus daily cases of COVID-19, with Mumbai contributing 657 infections to the tally on Sunday. With the latest addition of 3,558 cases, the overall infections across the state since the pandemic broke out stand at 19.69 lakh.

The state's recovery rate now stands at 94.65 per cent following the discharge of 2,302 patients on Sunday. In Mumbai, the recovery rate is 93 per cent with the doubling rate touching 366 days. The city's daily growth rate is at present .21 per cent.
Mumbai has so far reported 2.98 lakh cases, including 7,180 active infections.
Maharashtra's mortality rate currently stands at 2.54 per cent. Of the nearly half lakh deaths in the state, 1,172 have died due to other causes. These are the cases where patients were positive, then tested negative but later died due to other complications. On testing, the state has so far collected 1.34 crore samples.
Considering the 19.69 lakh case count, Maharashtra's positivity ratio comes to 14.69 per cent. Of the COVID-19 deaths across the state, Nagpur topped with seven cases, followed by five fatalities in Mumbai. Barring the city, the MMR saw seven other deaths. According to civic officials, of the Mumbai deaths, all patients were suffering from other ailments and four were senior citizens.
