Couple crushed to death by speeding dumper at Malad

The Malad police have arrested a driver for crashing his speeding dumper into a couple in their 40s while they were walking back to their home at Malad late last night. The couple died on the spot, police sources said

The Malad police have arrested a driver for crashing his speeding dumper into a couple in their 40s while they were walking back to their home at Malad late last night. The couple died on the spot, police sources said.


Ali Electricwala (44) and Tara Electricwala (42) — a resident of Malad — had gone to the market to buy a carpet with one of their relatives.


While they were walking back home, near Choksi Hospital on the Malad-Marve Road, a dumper travelling at high speed hit the couple. Ali’s body was found lying 12 feet away, while Tara’s body was in two pieces.

The deceased duo were taken to  Shatabdi Hospital and the police were immediately informed.

According to the Malad Police station, the crowd present there caught the dumper driver and handed him over to the police. The police also said that investigations were on and they had filed a case against the driver.

The relative who was accompanying the couple recorded this cops about the incident and recorded his statement.
