After breaking the news about Coldplay's Mumbai concert, here's the complete run-down on what to expect. The November 19 concert at Bandra's MMRDA grounds, headlined by British rock band Coldplay, is going to continue for a glorious six hours and host 1,50,000 revellers..

On Friday, after mid-day's exclusive report in Malavika's Mumbai confirmed the concert date, social media went into a tizzy, and the story was trending on Twitter all day.

We were the first to tell you that Chris Martin and the boys would be accompanied in this Global Citizen Festival by other Indian and international celebrities, including Jay Z, Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan.

Our mention of paid tickets at Rs 25,000 brought on an avalanche of reactions from fans and music lovers, to which the official Global Citizen Festival twitter handle tweeted, "@coldplay headline the 1st #GlobalCitizen Festival in India on 11/19! Tix are FREE by taking action. More Monday!"

This was later elaborated on their website explaining that a certain percentage (80 per cent, we were later told) of tickets would be free and available to fans who take campaigning actions. This allows them to earn points, and redeem them for free entry. Fans who do not wish to partake in the 'Action Journey' can also join in the revelry, but for a few thousands, says a Wizcraft spokesperson, promising to share more at Monday's official Global Citizen India announcement.

The paid seats include the VVIP bracket or those involving corporate sponsorship. mid-day has access to a document sent out by an international American conglomerate to its premier clients, inviting them to block tickets since “it will be very difficult [to bag them] once it goes live on Book My Show”. The mailer mentions the following categories: INR 5,00,000; INR 2,50,000; INR 1,00,000; INR 50,000 and INR 25,000. Of these, the mailer clarifies, only Categories 1 and 2 will offer seated access. Would someone want to cough up a lakh to sway in a crowd? Time will tell. The cause though, is noble — to end extreme poverty across the world by 2030. We are told the organisers will invite corporates to get involved through individual contributions, sponsorships and CSR activations, apart from the VIP ticket sales.

Last evening, a spokesperson from event partner Wizcraft International Entertainment, said, “Over 80 per cent of the tickets will be given away free to fans who take campaigning actions in support of programmes that concern gender equality, education and sanitation.” Details of how and when will be available on the Global Citizen digital platform that goes live on Monday. The spokesperson refused to answer other queries, but here's what we can tell you. On September 12, the organisers plan to make an official announcement at a suburban five-star with chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and MP Poonam Mahajan present. Kareena Kapoor and Aamir Khan may also make it, we hear.

The concert partnered by viacom18, Wizcraft and The Global Education and Leadership Foundation is going to be a six-hour plus event with live performances by the names mentioned. For those of you who don't care to be part of the 'Action Journey', and are interested in music and music alone, there's always the television broadcast to sit back and enjoy.
