The complaint made by Indrani Mukerjea, prime accused in the Sheena Vora murder case, against the superintendent of the Byculla jail, has now been transferred to the Crime Branch.
According to official sources, the Mumbai Crime Branch has been given the responsibility of investigating the complaint filed in the Nagpada police station, which has not been converted into an FIR yet.

The complaint follows an incident on June 24 in the Byculla prison, wherein an inmate named Manjula Shetye was killed. Indrani was allegedly beaten up after the killing, by the Superintendent and the Byculla jail officials.

There were bruise marks and other injuries on her hands, legs and head. She was allegedly even verbally abused by the jail officials and the Superintendent, and was threatened with sexual assault for protesting against the alleged cold-blooded murder of Shetye in custody.
