The bodies of the four teenagers who drowned on Thursday at Rajodi Beach, Arnala, were recovered early yesterday.

More than 10 fire brigade personnel, 20 coast guard and around 20 police officials from Arnala police station were at the spot. The bodies were recovered at around 4 am. After the panchanama, the bodies were handed over to the parents.


The bodies of Sunny Palav (15), Sujit Vishwakarma (16), Rohan Jadhav (17) and Chetan Kalap (19) were found in a 50-metre radius of the beach. The boys were part of a group of seven, of whom Sachin Ravi Malekar (16), Naman Vinod Mishra (15), and Ankit Uttam Sharma (15) were rescued. “We recovered all the missing boys’ bodies early in the morning and sent them to the government hospital for post-mortem. They were later handed over to their parents,” said Police PRO (Palghar district) Ranjeet Shirsaath.
