Actor Arjun Rampal's sister Komal Rampal has been summoned by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in connection with the drugs case. She will appear before the central agency at 11 am on Wednesday.

“Narcotics Control Bureau, Mumbai, has summoned actor Arjun Rampal's sister today (January 6), in connection with a drugs case,” an NCB officer told ANI.

Last month, the anti-drug agency had questioned Arjun Rampal for close to six hours in connection with a raid conducted at his residence in November 2020, where the agency had found tablets banned under the NDPS Act.

During the raid, the NCB had seized two different tablets - one was Ultracet (a prescription medicine used to treat moderate to severe pain, contains tramadol and acetaminophen). One strip comes with 15 tablets and four were found at the actor's house.

The second tablet was Clonazepam, used to treat seizure disorders and panic attacks. Two strips of the tablet were found.

The NCB had recorded the actor's and his partner, Gabriella Demetriades' statement after the raid on November 11. Rampal had then produced the prescription, issued by a Delhi-based psychiatrist named Dr Rohit Garg.

Investigations had found that the backdated prescription the actor had produced for the tablets was arranged illegally through a relative.

Rampal also told the agency that one of the tablets is for his dog, prescribed by a vet, and the second is used as an SOS for anxiety by his sister, as prescribed by a Delhi-based psychiatrist.

However, Dr Garg, in his statement, had told the NCB that he was unaware of the probe. He was approached by a relative of Rampal's through a common friend. The relative said that she has anxiety and requested for a backdated prescription.

When asked about this, the actor said he does not know about the prescription being backdated as it is his sister's.
