The accused was identified as Mithilesh Tiwari, the owner of a mobile shop in Dharavi. Officials said Tiwari had been harassing the victim for the past 15 days. They said he continued calling the girl despite her telling him that she was not a soft target and would never have any kind of relationship with him.
Killer move
It was the girl who planned the entire scenario and called Tiwari to Kurla station to meet her so that he could be nabbed. “After I got fed up of his vulgar calls, I decided to teach him a lesson. I spoke to him nicely and lured him into meeting me at Kurla station,” the victim said. The meeting was fixed for yesterday over the phone and Tiwari described the kind and colour of clothes he would be wearing so that she could identify him easily.
“I identified him from his clothes and approached him. The moment he saw me, he grabbed my arm. But I immediately started trashing him, along with my friend, as his vulgar talks had embarrassed me. I thrashed him in full public view, so that he does not repeat it with any other girl,” she said. While Tiwari was being thrashed, GRP officials were informed about the incident simultaneously. They reached the spot and arrested him immediately.
“Tiwari had harassed the girl a lot over the phone and tried to molest her on the platform itself. Based on the victim’s complaint and statement, we registered a case of molestation and harassment against the accused,” Senior PI Shivaji Dhumal of the Kurla GRP said. Tiwari was under Sections 354 and 509 of the IPC.
