Alok Bohra, senior divisional security commissioner for Central Railway, has assured Preeta Saji yesterday that her assaulter would be detained in 2 days
Taking note of the story published in mid-day (‘Window seat brawl turns ugly, RPF turns a blind eye’, August 14), on a Vithalwadi woman being slapped while travelling in an Ambernath-CST local on Wednesday for refusing to surrender her window seat, GRP officials called her and took her complaint at the Kalyan GRP yesterday.

Alok Bohra, senior divisional security commissioner for Central Railway, called Preeta Saji and asked her to lodge a complaint at the GRP office at Kalyan station. He assured Saji that the accused would be detained within two days. Saji usually boards the first class ladies’ compartment, but boarded a second-class coach on Wednesday.
She was waiting for a train at Vithalwadi station on her way to work in CST last morning. When two successive trains were cancelled around 8.30 am, the 30-year-old accountant decided to board a train in the opposite direction to Ambernath, so she would get a place to sit once it emptied out at Ambernath and started its journey towards CST. This prompted the accused’s assault.
