Upload students' internal marks online by December 13: Mumbai University to colleges

If colleges fail to upload their students’ internal assessment marks on the university’s digital portal, the varsity will not release results of final-year degree students. This is what a circular issued by the Mumbai University warns, giving an extended deadline to the colleges.

Around 80,000 candidates’ final-year results will be held back if colleges don’t upload the marks by December 13.

Principals give reasons
Jai Hind college principal Dr Ashok Wadia said, “We have uploaded our data online. However, external examiners do internal assessment for psychology; the college does not have those marks, the examiners have to upload those. It will be done soon.”

“There is no reason of worry at all. Sometimes, it happens that the server is down, or when we are done uploading marks of one subject, some technical issue crops up while uploading those of another. But this system is better than sending the marks manually, though a little more time consuming,” said Dr Neelam Arora, principal of Lala Lajpatrai College, adding that they are confident about meeting the deadline.

At Mithibai College, however, the principal said they were certain that all marks had been uploaded. “One or two might have been held up due to some issue; it shall be resolved soon,” added Dr Rajpal Hande.

In thousands
Names of several city colleges appear in this list with a number of students from each whose internal assessment marks have not yet been uploaded. While marks of 30,000 students from commerce and science streams are pending, in arts, around 15,000 students marks are yet to be uploaded.
