At a time when the city is moaning about BMC's 15 per cent water cut to residential areas, spare a thought for buildings that don't get any BMC water.

According to the Maharashtra Societies Welfare Association, around 150 buildings in Mumbai face this problem. And in most cases, it's the builders who are to be blamed for this.
One such housing society is RNA Park in Borivli (E). Residents of the society's phase 3 say their building has never received water from the BMC.
"Even though the builder sends us three water tankers every day, it's water from the bore well.

Residents sent a complaint to the builder in July, but they haven't got any response.
A visit to their ward's water department also didn't help.
Bhagyawant Lathe, head of the water department of the R-N ward of Borivli (E), said, "Until the builder constructs an auxiliary suction tank near a BMC water pipe, water connection cannot be provided."
The Other Side
Hari Nair, CEO of RNA (NG) Builders, said, "The matter is between the residents and us. We don't want to comment on it."
