Thane district has received around 150 per cent more rainfall so far this year as compared to corresponding period last year, the district administration said in Thane on Thursday

Thane: Thane district has received around 150 per cent more rainfall so far this year as compared to corresponding period last year, the district administration said in Thane on Thursday.


As per the official statement issued here, till July 21 last year, the cumulative rainfall was 451 mm, while for the same period this year it is 1,112 mm. The storage of water in the dams is also comfortable and most of the dams have more than 60 percent storage the reports added.


The dam-wise storage in the district is: Dhamni 70.04%; Kawdas 100%; Bhatsa 67.25%; Vandri 69.94%; Modak Sagar 64.25%; Tansa 68.00%, and Barvi 47.48%. These dams supply water to Thane and Palghar districts.
