Thane Ephedrine Case: Involvement of three Bollywood actors suspected

The Thane Police investigating the Rs 2000 crore drugs haul case have uncovered the involvement of three small time Bollywood actors.

The actors, who have mostly performed in serials and movies in villainous roles, are a woman and two men. The police claim that trio attended meetings in Dubai and Kenya along with former Bollywood actress Mamta Kulkarni and her husband and alleged mastermind of the the international drug peddling ring Vicky Goswami.

A senior officer from Thane Crime Branch confirmed that the names of three Bollwyood actors have come out and they are going to send them summons to take their statement in the case.

"We doubt that they too were addicted to it (ephedrine) and were in touch with Mamta Kulkarni. We suspect that they played a role in supplying the drug to Bollywood parties and earned some good money from it. The investigation is going on," added the officer.

Meanwhile, the Thane Police have also detained Kishore Singh's father and former MLA of Bharatiya Janta Party from Gujarat Bhavsinh Rathod. "We found that the he was in touch over phone continously with his son. We are tracing the location and will soon arrest him. He was the mastermind and was in direct touch with Vicky Goswami," added the officer.

Punit Sringi, one of the accused arrested in the case and the director of Avon Life Science Limited, has complained to the police of threat to his life in Thane jail.

"We plan on making him the approver in the case. But he has received threats in jail. So after receiving the information with the help of the Superintendent we have shifted him to another barack," the officer added saying Sringi's statement will reveal many things in the case.
