Thane: A 26-year-old man allegedly throttled his fiance to death in Thane after he grew suspicious of her character, police said today.

The incident came to light onMonday after the arrest of accused Kumar Valmik Patil, who took his fiance Meenal Dinesh Jubele (20) to a lodge in Akloli on December 4 and killed her, API G K Mathondkar of Ganeshpuri falling under Bhiwandi taluka in Thane, said.
Jubele's body was recovered a day after from Sangeeta Lodge following which police filed a case of accidental death. However, her postmortem revealed that she was murdered after which a case of murder was registered and the accused was arrested.
Both are residents of Shedgaon in Ganeshpuri and were to get married soon, police added.
