A compressed liquid ammonia tanker overturned and fell in a nullah near the Mumbra toll plaza early Sunday morning resulting in the massive leakage of toxic gas

A compressed liquid ammonia tanker skid from Mumbra Bypass road into a residential area resulting in a massive leakage of toxic gas.

Efforts were on to stop the leakage because of which foul smell was spreading in the area. Some people even complained of eye irritation and nausea.

The liquid ammonia bulk carrier overturned and fell in a nullah near Mumbra toll plaza close to the bypass at around 2.45 AM on Sunday, today.

The disaster control and fire brigade personnel were rushed to the spot. The help of personnel from a fertilisers unit in Taloja was also being taken to stop the gas leakage.
