A small time television actress, Urvashi Danorkar, was arrested and later released on bail for allegedly physically abusing her minor housemaid in Andheri.

Urvashi, 32, was arrested for allegedly injuring the eye of her 10-year-old domestic help after accusing her
of stealing food, Amboli police station senior inspector K Ghanmande said.

However, Rameshwari said, "Didi (Danorkar) banged my head against the wall, punched me in the eye and burnt
my hands with a hot spoon. All this because I ate a little shrikand without telling her. I was hungry."

Ghanmande said, "Danorkar has been charged with Section 324 under IPC and Section 2326 under children crime act."

However, Urvashi got bail on Saturday morning. Advocate Nitin Satpute said, "As Rameshwari was not used to the electric geyser, she burnt her hand. A few days ago, she was also bitten by a honeybee. All the allegations against my client are false."
