Gill, who is credited with flushing out terrorism from Punjab in the 80s, said it was important to have political consensus to fight terror.
The Punjab supercop stressed the need to strengthen the local police in order to fight terror. "Fighting terror is a small commander's war. Give local police the required training and motivation and they will deliver the goods," he said.
He appealed to the politicians to be honest with the security forces. "Corruption is the root cause of terrorism," he said.
