A staffer with GM Jewellers at Noor Baugh in Dongri looted cash, gold and silver worth Rs 50 lakh from the store, and is absconding since. The incident occurred at midnight on Friday. Twenty eight year-old Rajju is the main suspect behind the theft. Employed with the store for over a year, Rajju slept overnight at the store on on Friday. With the help of duplicate keys, he was able to open some of the drawers and managed to break open the rest.

The incident came as a shock to owner Rajesh Bhai, who considered Rajju as one of his reliable employees. On Saturday morning, Rajesh Bhai registered a case with the Dongri police. Further investigations revealed that it was an employee who had committed the theft. The police are struggling with the fact that they have little information about the accused's identity or address proof.

Senior police inspector VB Mukne of Dongri police station said, "We have registered a case under section 381 of IPC (theft by servant), and have enlisted a team to look out for him."
