Sons kill abusive stepfather

A 30-year-old man was killed when his two stepsons hit him on the head with a stone after accusing him of abusing their mother under the influence of alcohol. Police officials have now arrested the two boys and the mother. The deceased, Tulsiram Chavan, a resident of Sewree was killed by one of the sons on August 1 and his body dumped in a secluded spot nearby.

According to police officials, the accused have been identified as Chavan’s second wife Renu and her two sons Akash and Deepak. In their statement to the cops, the trio said they had a serious altercation with the deceased on the night of August 1, following which one of the brothers threw a stone which hit Chavan’s head, killing him on the spot.

Akash then called his father-in-law Shakeel Ahmad and his brother-in-law Zafar Shaikh, who then came to Sewree. Later they put the body in their car and dumped it in a secluded area in Basant road in Sewree.

An officer from Sewree police station said, “Renu had two children from her first marriage and she got married to Chavan recently. They dug a big hole, dumped the body in it and put layers of cement to cover the hole.”

The crime was discovered when on August 4, Chavan’s first wife Jyoti filed a missing complaint with the local police station. The cops are however, clueless about the identity of an anonymous caller who informed Jyoti about her husband death and the location of the body.

“We have arrested the two boys and his second wife though Akash’s in-laws are still absconding,” added, the officer. The accused have been booked under sections 302, 210 and 114 of the Indian Penal Code.
