You can do this literally as well as figuratively this election. Varun Singh tells you why...

Have you always wanted to show some of the country's netas the middle finger? On April 30, you will be able to do this officially.

The change however, has evoked mixed reactions among voters ranging from outrage to humour.

The finger doesn't matter, voting does

For item girl Rakhi Sawant, the prospect of showing her middle finger to the public is so embarrassing that she said, "If this is the case, then I prefer not to vote. I can't show my middle finger to the public."

Actor Chunky Pandey, however, was at the opposite end of the spectrum. "Those who don't vote, their middle finger should be chopped off," he said.

But for actor Jackie Shroff the change is amusing. "The idea of showing off your middle finger is funny, but that won't stop me from voting," he said.

To the common man, the change makes no difference. Marketing executive Wilfred Rodrigues said, "It's important that we vote. It's immaterial which finger is inked."

Media executive Ankit Dave echoed this saying, "What matters is making sure that one of your fingers is inked, proving that you've done your part."
