Preeti, who is a CA for a mobile company at BKC, found her mother lying in a pool of blood when she returned home from work.u00a0u00a0u00a0
Suresh Nalawade, senior police inspector fromu00a0 Versova police station, said, "Preeti found the main door ajar and Taraben lying in a pool of blood in the kitchen. She then informed her neighbours who in turn, informed the police."
"We are yet to nab the culprit. Taraben used to lend money on interest to hawkers in her area. This could be a reason for her murder," said Nalwade.
Arun Kothari, Taraben's son said, "I stay at Malad with my family.u00a0 It was Preeti who informed me of the incident at 9.30 pm."
Taraben's flat was underu00a0 renovation since a month. The police have taken all the workers and suspected hawkers into custody for questioning.
"Why can't senior
citizens inform us about workers in their homes, so that we keep a record?" asked Nalwade.
The body has been sent for post mortem to Cooper Hospital, Juhu.
