In a major development in the gangster Sandeep Gadoli fake encounter case, the Crime Branch has got permission from the Haryana government, to prosecute all four arrested Gurgaon police officials.
On February 7, 2015, Gurgaon police officials claimed to have killed Gadoli in self-defence at Airport Metro hotel in Andheri. The Mumbai Police, however, got their first breakthrough in the case after examining CCTV footage of the hotel, which allegedly showed them firing at an unarmed Gadoli.

A SIT was formed to investigate the case thoroughly. During the investigation, the SIT had arrested four Gurgaon police officials, who acted without official permission from their superiors.

According to the Crime Branch, after the investigation, they had sent a report to the Haryana government, who then sent it to Gurgaon police, and asked their report on it. Gurgaon police then cleared that the arrested accused had not taken official permission. On the basis of this Gurgaon police report, the Haryana government granted permission to the Mumbai Crime Branch to prosecute them.

The Mumbai Crime Branch has arrested four Gurgaon police officials who were led by Sub-Inspector Pradhyaman Yadav.
