The GRP currently has six dogs.

"In the last two years, there have two to three instances of people caught transporting ganja and other contraband through parcel vans of express trains," said a GRP official.
The GRP have also asked the government for a Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad team of their own.

"We have to strengthen our resources and ensure that narcotics are not transported through trains and railway stations," said GRP Central Zone DCP Quaiser Khalid.
GRP Commissioner T A Chavan was not available for comment.
GRP dog squad
Presently, the GRP has four sniffer dogs Oscar, Max, Jessy and Sandy. They are used in cases of robbery, murder etc.
And its two Labrador pups, Buzo and Bruno, will soon be sent to Pune, where they'll be trained exclusively
for explosive detection.
