Continuing his opposition to the construction of the proposed Metro III car depot at Aarey Milk Colony, MNS chief Raj Thackeray has demanded that the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) build it at the Mumbai Port Trust (MbPT) area to protect the Aarey Milk Colony biodiversity.

The MNS chief along with senior party leaders and more than 300 party workers visited AMC and reviewed the car depot land where the trees will have to be cut.
Raj Thackeray also interacted with the members connected with the 'save AMC' group, including Rishi Aggarwal, Stalin Dayanand and Biju Augustine. The members outlined the negative impact the car depot will have on the biodiversity of Aarey Milk Colony.
Taking a dig at the Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) report that was submitted by MMRC to Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Raj asked, "How can MMRC say in the EIA report that there is no wildlife in Aarey despite having records?"
Raj questioned the Aarey Milk Colony deal being finalised in spite of having three other alternatives for the Metro car depot. "Five-six years ago, I had said that the politicians want to shut down Aarey dairy and Worli dairy so that a handful of businessmen can purchase the land and now that is exactly what seems to be happening. When there is land available at MbPT for car depot, why can't it be shifted there?"
Raj also said that the BJP government is working on the same lines as the Congress-NCP government which is not a good sign.
Raj further alleged that the new development plan has been prepared in mind solely for the benefit of few businessmen and developers.
