A senior RPF official said, “One of our personnel in plainclothes recorded a video of people damaging public property and stone pelting in Dombivli and we managed to arrest people based on it. The investigation is ongoing and we are trying to probe other angles of the protest.” The Government Railway Police (GRP) are also helping with the investigations.
The accused, Vickey Sequeira and Milind Hariya arrested by RPF, along with three others who were arrested by city police have been booked under Sections 143, 145, 147, 149, 427, 332 and 353 of the Indian Penal Code, along with Sections 152 and 153 of the Railway Act for damaging property.
Police officials are gathering details about the events of Friday and evidence against miscreants and instigators of the protests. Ravinder Kumar Singal, commissioner of police (GRP) said, “We are taking help of social networking sites and are asking people to send any videos that they may have recorded of the mob.”

Cops are looking into websites like Facebook and YouTube to get photos and videos so that they can pinpoint more people involved in the case. A K Singh, Chief Security Commissioner (RPF), CR, said, “We request people who have recorded videos or taken photos of the incidents to email us at csc@cr.railnet.gov.in. This would help us apprehend people who were involved in the agitation.”
According to sources, railway officials and cops are probing if the agitation on Friday was instigated by anti-social elements. A senior CR official told mid-day, “The situation which was created at stations could not have been started by everyday commuters. We believe that some miscreants were involved in it. We will ensure that strict punishment is given to every culprit involved in the case.”
