"He will kill me, I am very scared." These were the last words of the 13-year-old victim of the Powai gang rape before he slipped into a coma, eventually succumbing on Tuesday. His father recorded a chilling account of his ordeal in a minute-long video in which the semi-conscious child recounts how scared he was of his attackers.

The one-minute video of the teenager's last words will now be considered as his dying declaration by the police, in addition to the statement of his mother, who told the cops that her son and his 10-year-old friend consumed poison after they were gang-raped by a group of boys.

As mid-day had reported earlier, the friend had succumbed to the poison before the police were notified about the rape. His body was exhumed for post-mortem hours after the 13-year-old died on Tuesday.

Family devastated
The teen's death has left his father in shock. The boy did not tell his parents about the rape until he was admitted in hospital. By then, it was too late. "I would have sold my house and moved somewhere else if he had just told me once. On the day he consumed poison with his friend, he was vomiting constantly. On the way to the hospital, I asked him if he had eaten something bad. He just told me, 'Sorry papa, I drank poison'. He had bought rat poison from a local store and mixed it with a soft drink that he and his friend drank together. This is devastating for my family. I hope my son gets justice," the father told mid-day.

He was terrified
The poison had severely damaged the boy's intestines and doctors had said his condition was deteriorating. The police had not got a chance to question the boy yet, so his parents began to question him in an attempt to get some information about the culprits.

"I asked him so many times why he drank the poison but he just kept saying, 'He will kill me, I am very scared'.

The boy's mother had earlier told the cops that he and his friend saw no other way out but to kill themselves after the rapists threatened to kill their parents. The fear of his attackers had completely taken over the boy, said his father.

"I first noticed the change in his behaviour in the first week of July, after his teacher told me that he looked frightened but refused to tell her why. He stopped going to tuition classes from July 6 and told us he did not want to study. He was a very bright student and loved school, but from the second week of July, he stopped going there too," the father recalled.

He added, "He used to just keep a picture of God in his hands, and when my wife and I would ask him why, he would just stay silent."

The police is currently questioning the locals to zero in on suspects.

On Wednesday, the cops also questioned the victim's best friend, said sources.
