Aditya Panscholi thought he could break the law and get away with it.

"Aditya was travelling in a Lexus from Harinivas Circle towards Teen Haath Naka when his car was stopped.

Initially, we didn't recognise him because of his glasses.

We fined him Rs 100 for not wearing a seat belt, but he refused to pay.

He argued that it is not compulsory to wear one in Thane.

He then left his car with us, came back in 10 minutes and paid the fine," said D S Pardeshi, sub-inspector, Thane traffic department.

Despite several attempts, Panscholi remained unavailable for comment.
