One man was stabbed to death while another suffered injuries when they were caught speaking to a woman from a different locality at Malad on Saturday night by a local gang. The deceased identified as Adil Ansari (22), a resident of Malwani sector V, and his friend Irfan Shaikh (22) were standing in Sector II, talking to the former's girlfriend when they were approached by three men residing nearby. The two groups got into a fight over making conversation with a girl from their locality.

The three accused are Abdul Shaikh (22), Ibrahim Shaikh (23) and Wasim, also residents of sector II. According to the Malwani police, the trio were having liquor in a parked car, when they spotted a woman from their area, taking to the strangers at midnight. They questioned the girl about what was she doing chatting with men from a different area, when she refused to reply. Enraged, the men picked up a fight with Ansari and Shaikh.
The fight turned violent when one of the accused brandished a knife from his pocket and stabbed Ansari. Shaikh was also attacked during this tussel.
Hearing the woman's screams, locals gathered on the spot and rushed the injured a nearby hospital where Ansari was declared dead on arrival. "We have arrested Abdul and Ibrahim for murder, however Wasim got away. We have launched a manhunt for him and will arrest him soon," said VR Andhale, senior police inspector of Malwani police station.
