Commuters travelling on the Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar Metro line will not have to wait in long lines anymore for tickets or tokens anymore as Mumbai Metro One Private Limited launched its Mobile Ticketing Product "Skiiip Q" on Thursday, using which, your mobile phone will act as a ticket.

The commuter will just have to download an application and the QR code generated by the mobile app can be used at the automated fare collection (AFC) gates at Metro stations. The initiative was launched at Andheri Metro station yesterday.
It should be noted that MMOPL has joined hands with Paytm as the official ticketing partner. During peak hours, commuters have to stand in long queues at Andheri and Ghatkopar to buy tickets or tokens. Now, instead of using tokens or smart cards, commuters can travel using the mobile app.
According to officials 'Skiiip Q' facility will help commuters to book their journey tickets at their own convenience even from outside the Metro stations. A Mumbai Metro One spokesperson said, "We are happy to announce the launch of the Mobile Ticketing Product for the first time in India and will endeavour to introduce even more customer centric benefits in the future."
It should be noted that tokens and smart cards will continue to be available at ticketing windows.
The 11.40-km Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar (VAG) alignment with 12 stations is the eighth densest metro corridor in the world, and has helped reduce travel time for commuters from 90 minutes to 21 minutes.
