The service is available for both for the domestic (1A and 1B) and international (T2) terminals. “No passenger will have to wait in long queues to book a cab. In the beginning, passengers will have to book the cabs at least three hours prior to landing in order to have the cab ready. Depending on the response, this time may be reduced to two or even one hour,” said an official.
Passengers say the service, which began on Wednesday, will be very helpful. “The waiting time is very long at the airport during monsoon. This service will be a boon, especially for people who come to the city just for meetings and fly back the same day,” said Apurva Telang, a frequent flier.
Another frequent flier, Karanpal Singh Sethi said, “It is a very thoughtful move by the authorities and it will help people like me a lot.” An MIAL spokesperson said, “The service has been started for fliers’ convenience. Booking the radio cabs online takes less than 60 seconds.”
