Heavy rains lashed several parts of the city since early Sunday morning. There was heavy water-logging in some parts. Most Ganesh Chaturthi decided to give pandal-hopping a miss

Heavy rains lashed several parts of the city since early Sunday morning.

There was heavy water-logging and traffic congestion in several areas including Hindmata Cinema in Parel.

Several Ganpati revellers, who had come to visit the famous Lalbaughca Raja mandal, were seen outside Currey Road railway station.

But several other Ganesh pandals saw a drastic drop in attendance as many devotees decided to stay home rather than brave the downpour due to train delays and traffic congestion. Only Lalbaugcha Raja witnessed the usual rush of devotees.
